PERKINS, Albert, died May 4, 2007 in Melbourne, Florida.
 
   Melbourne, Florida and Presque Isle – Albert “Bud” Perkins died May 4, 2007 in Melbourne, Florida. He was born June 28, 1928, in Westfield, Maine, the son of Raleigh and Eliza Perkins.
    Albert grew up in Mars Hill and was a member of the Presque Isle Police Department in the 1950’s and 1960’s. He was also active in harness racing throughout New England during this period. After leaving Maine and moving to Florida, he was a detective with the Melbourne Police Department.
    Albert is survived by his sons, Carl Perkins and his wife Judy of Presque Isle, Jay Perkins and his wife Mary of Greensboro, North Carolina, his daughter Laurie Leonard and her husband Gregory of Melbourne, Florida, and a sister Inez Johnston and her husband Robert of Melbourne, Florida.
    Besides his parents, Albert was predeceased by his wife Donna, who died in January of 2006, his oldest son Brent Perkins, and two sisters, Leah Kierstead and Launa Young.
    A private family gathering was held in Melbourne, Florida on May 12, 2007.
