PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – Dirigo Boys State and Dirigo Girls State are one-week summer programs sponsored by the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary. Layne Waddell, Carmen Allen, Lydia Brown and Courtney Hoffses are the Dirigo State delegates representing Presque Isle High School.
The students will learn about state government, responsible citizenship, and how our local, county, and state government works.
This year, Dirigo Boys State will be held at Thomas College in Waterville June 17-21, while Dirigo Girls State will be held at Husson College in Bangor the same week.
