PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – Child safety, especially when traveling, is an issue that will be addressed on Friday, June 22, as the Presque Isle Fire Department hosts a safety-seat checkup at the fire station.
“The Presque Isle Fire Department will be hosting a child safety seat checkup event on Friday, June 22, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the station, located at 43 North Street, in Presque Isle,” said Adam Rider, of the PIFD.
All interested individuals are invited to stop by the fire department to learn how to properly install a child’s safety seat. There is no charge for the checkup.
According to Rider, child seats, when properly installed, reduce the risks of serious injuries or death in the event of a crash.
“Safety seats save lives,” said Rider.
