GPS class to be offered Aug. 18

Are you interested in GPS? Want to learn more about what your system is capable of? Come join us to further explore these topics and more.
    On Saturday, August 18, an Advanced Global Positioning Systems (GPS) Workshop will be held at the Nordic Heritage Sports Club in Presque Isle. GPS units will be provided for instruction and students will be able to follow along simultaneously with the instructor. Find out how GPS is used for agriculture, recreation and forestry through hands-on field instruction and demonstration. Students should have prior basic GPS skills. The workshop will be limited to 45 students in order to ensure proper one-on-one instruction. Advanced registration is required; registration fee is $20 for each participant.
Topics covered will include: defining property lines and field acreages, geo-cache search techniques and saving information to maps. Students may be eligible for the following credits: CLP = one day of recertification credit, QLP = one continuing education credit, Licensed Forester CEU credit, agricultural pesticide credit.
To register for the workshop, forward the registration fee along with your name, address, phone number, total number attending and specify which session each participant is interested in; agriculture, forestry or recreation.
