BENSON, Lela H., 89, of Presque Isle, died July 29, 2007 at a Presque Isle hospital.
PRESQUE ISLE – Lela H. Benson, 89 died Sunday, July 29, 2007 at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born in Florenceville, N.B. Canada on June 3, 1918, the daughter of Guy N. and Annie I. (Wiggins) Holmes. She worked as an accountant and office manager for the ABC Bakery for 23 years, worked at UMPI and retired from Nutrite in Presque Isle.
Lela is survived by three sons and their wives; George R. and Erin Benson of Caribou, John R. and Lisa Benson of Lompoc, CA., Bruce W. and Marie Benson of Santa Rosa, CA., a daughter Anne A. Wenzel and her husband Tim of Santee, CA. 7 grandchildren, 3 great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Russell in 1998, two brothers John and Glen, and a sister Lois.
Funeral services were held 1PM Friday, August 3, 2007 at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church Street, Presque Isle with the Rev. David Williams officiating. Relatives and friends called noon until time of service at the funeral home. Interment was at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle.
