Congratulations on 30 years
A special congratulations goes out to Larry Fletcher for being in business for 30 years. Larry has operated A & M Auto in Mars Hill at the same location since 1977.

Westfield Jubilee ATV pulls
The Results of the ATV pulls held on Friday night, August 24, are as follows: In the 2WD Open  – 900 pounds – first was Travis Barnes of Mars Hill; second went to Brandon Bell of Mars Hill. In the 2WD Open – 1,000 pounds – first was Beth Jennings of Presque Isle; second (#73) and third (#71) went to Travis Barnes. In the 4WD – up to 500 cc stock – 1,000 pound – first went to Travis Barnes; second went to Gary Dyer of Presque Isle; third went to Steve Decker of Presque Isle.
In the 4WD – up to 500cc stock – 1,100 pounds – first went to Gary Dyer; second went to Travis Barnes ; and third went to Steve Decker.  In the 4WD – up to 501cc stock – 1,100 pounds – first went to Erica Cyr of Easton; second went to Steve Decker; and third went to Troy Spittle of Presque Isle. In the 4WD – over 501cc stock – 1,000 pounds – first went to Nate Brewer of Presque Isle; second went to Emily Cyr of Easton; and third went to Jack Shannon of Westfield. In the 4WD – over 501cc stock – 1,200 pounds – first went to Allen Brown of Presque Isle; second went to Troy Spittle and third went to Emily Cyr.
In the Up to 500cc Mod division – 1,000 pounds – first went to Steve Decker; second went to Emily Cyr; and third went to Gary Dyer. In the up to 500cc Mod Division – 1,100 pounds – first went to Steve Decker; second went to Emily Cyr and Third was Gary Dyer. In the 4WD – Mod Open division – 1,000 pounds – first went to Beth Jennings; second was Eric Fulton of Mars Hill; and third went to Nate Brewer. In the 4WD – Mod Open division – 1,100 pounds – first went to Matt Farnham of Presque Isle; second was Eric Fulton; and third went to Steve Decker. In the 4WD – Mod Open division – 1,200 pounds – first went to Matt Farnham; second went to Allen Brown; and third was Ben Adams of Presque Isle.
In the Free-for-All, first went to Allen Brown; second went to Matt Farnham; and third went to Emily Cyr. A big thank-you to all who participated.
Rotary Club
The Mars Hill Rotary Club met on Tuesday morning at 6:30 a.m. at the Aroostook Health Center in Mars Hill.
The special speaker was Jay Peavey, manager of the Mars Hill and Blaine Water District. He spoke about the slow sand filter system that is used and how the system operates. He also answered some general questions from the audience.
Bridgewater music jam
Bridgewater’s music jams take place each Thursday evening from 6 – 9 p.m. and feature old-time rock ’n roll, country, oldies and standards. Regulars are Denis Gagne (BHA president) on the drums, Jann Votaw (BHA secretary) on guitar and vocals and Simon Blawej Clair on guitar and vocals. Some refreshments are available.
Trying to preserve a small town’s history is not an easy task, and the BHA thanks those who support their efforts. They hope to see everyone at their planned events.
Bridgewater Historical Association

Ladies’ Stitch and *itch Group
The Bridgewater Recreation Department has formed a Ladies’ Stitch & ‘itch Group. The group meets every other Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. at the Bridgewater Civic Building. Ladies of all ages are invited to attend. There is no charge to attend. The group will meet on September 18.
This is an opportunity to bring whatever you are working on: cross-stitch, embroidery, scrapbooking, sewing, etc., and share good conversation while working on your favorite project. If you do not have anything to bring, that’s OK too, as others will be willing share and teach.
All are welcome – you don’t have to be a Bridgewater resident to participate, so bring your friends, too! For more information, contact Chris Finemore at 425-6606.
