Hockey players wanted

The Presque Isle Youth Hockey Association is looking for youth between the ages of 4 and 18 interested in playing hockey this winter. A registration meeting will be held on Saturday at the Presque Isle Recreation Center on Main Street from 9 a.m.-noon.     Dennis Albert, vice president of Presque Isle Youth Hockey, said players from the communities of Mapleton, Caribou, Fort Fairfield and Washburn are already involved in the program, and the league is looking for more hockey players from those and other surrounding communities.
Loaner equipment is available for new players through the association.
PIYH offers six divisions of play, an IP league for first-year players ages 4-12, as well as novice (ages 6-8), atoms (8-10), pee wees (11-12), bantams (13-15) and midgets (15-18).
Albert said PIYH is attempting to field a girls bantam (ages 10-16) team for the first time. In the past, girls have been mixed in with the other divisions, but a separate all-girls team is in the works. These players will be able to compete with their normal age-division teams as well.
For more information, contact Albert at 764-3862.
