Christmas event plans are under way

WESTFIELD, Maine – The Obedient Heart Ministry, an outreach ministry of the Westfield United Baptist Church, has planned an interdenominational Christmas event for area women.     Women are invited to join them to prepare their heart for the joy and peace of the upcoming holy season. Recognizing that many of the churchwomen travel long distances to attend women’s events, this year they are offering such an event in “The County.”
“Gifts from the Heart: Love, Laughter, Live,” with Cynthia Fantasia from Grace Chapel in Lexington, Mass. will be held from 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, Nov. 24 at the University of Maine at Presque Isle Campus Center. The facility is handicapped accessible. The cost is $25 until Oct. 31, and $30 from Nov. 1-18.
There will be a breakfast buffet, special holiday demonstrations, live music and traditional caroling, several door prizes, Book Shoppe, an opportunity to start (or complete) your Christmas shopping; an inspirational speaker, and a gift for everyone.
Fantasia serves as pastor of women at Grace Chapel. She oversees a ministry that reaches and teaches over 1,000 women weekly. She is a speaker at conferences and retreats nationally and internationally. During the summer of 2005, she visited Nigeria, addressing women’s health and spiritual issues, and was the keynote speaker at two Nigerian women’s conferences.
She is a contributing author in “Mothers Have Angel Wings” by Carol Kent, and “What We’ve Learned So Far” by Lucinda Secrest Mcdowell. She also has written several Bible studies. Fantasia is an adjunct professor at Gordon Conwell Seminary and received her doctor of ministry degree in the area of women’s studies.
