To the editor:
As the new Fort Fairfield Chamber Director, I would like to share the overwhelming dedication to the community I have witnessed from the townspeople. Most recently I attended the Fort Fairfield Rotary Club meeting in which they discussed their annual Thanksgiving Dinner. The Rotary Club as well as many other community members volunteer their time to put on a dinner for the senior citizens and homebound in the community. This dinner is completely free of charge and they even deliver meals to the citizens who are unable to leave their homes, as well as providing transportation to and from dinner for those who need it.
The dinner will be served at the Fort Fairfield VFW at noon on Thanksgiving Day. This event has become a family tradition for many of the volunteers, involving spouses and children. What better way to teach your children the real meaning of Thanksgiving!
For more information or to sign up to attend the dinner, please call the Town Office 472-3800 or Chamber of Commerce 472-3802.
