Thanks for the local support

To the editor:
    We wanted to thank the community for its support during the recent Bangor Ronald McDonald House “World Children’s Day” annual fund-raiser.
    Millions of children each year are born with illnesses in which the families need to leave their own communities to seek treatment. It is in during these times it is extremely valuable for a non-profit organization, such as the Ronald McDonald House to provide a place for these families to stay at little or no cost. The continued service of the Bangor Ronald McDonald House is made possible through the generous donations received from our community as well as other communities.
    We would like to extend a huge “thank you” to the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians for the use of their gym. The fund-raiser was a huge success with our group raising a few dollars short of $600 for this worthy cause. Again, thanks for the support
