HODGDON — Aroostook “Right to Read” is an organization comprised of Aroostook County schools that work together to promote literacy encompassing reading, writing, listening, and speaking across the curriculum among students, educators, and parents. Our schools are full of teachers who make a difference in the lives of the students they teach, as well as parents and volunteers who also promote literacy learning. This year, Aroostook “Right to Read” will recognize and honor an Aroostook County educator or team of educators, volunteer, or parent who have made contributions to literacy learning. The recipient of this year’s award will be honored during the Young Author’s Institute in March. The honoree will receive an autographed book by guest Maine author, Lea Wait, a certificate, and a gift certificate. Parents and community members from all county areas are invited to nominate an educator, team of educators, volunteer, or parent that they would like to see recognized as making an impact in the area of literacy. Send nomination, to sdeveau@staff.msad70.net or at 532-9228.
