Athlete of the Week
Jeremy Brock, of the Easton boys’ varsity basketball team, was named High School Athlete of the Week for the small schools by The Bangor Daily News on Thursday, Dec. 13. Brock was recognized for his contribution to the hard fought win over the Fort Fairfield Tigers, 67-59, in the season opener at home. Brock had 31 points. Presque Isle High School athlete of the week
The Varsity Club and Big Cheese Pizza are pleased to congratulate Katelynn Hartt and Dylan Collins for being selected as athletes of the week for the week of Dec. 3 to 8.
Hartt’s work ethic during the varsity ski team’s pre-season workouts has set an example for the other skiers to follow. Collins scored three goals to lead the hockey team past Old Town.
Celtics fans notice
Doug Cox-Urbach, a Celtic fanatic of Presque Isle, is organizing a trip for fans from the six New England states to travel for a one week period to watch the Boston Celtics in from March 16 to 23. The group will watch games in San Antonio, Houston, Dallas and New Orleans.

Hockey spaghettis upper and mini-auction
On Friday, Dec. 21 the Presque Isle varsity hockey team will host a spaghetti supper and mini-auction to benefit the Presque Isle Youth Hockey Association at 5:30 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus hall in Presque Isle. Cost is $5 per person. Team photos and autographs will also be available.
National baseball teams
Coast to Coast Baseball is inviting amateur baseball players between the ages of 13 to 15 and 16 to 18 to learn more about teams being formed to represent the USA in competition in Puerto Rico, Australia and Hawaii.

Maine Winter Sports Center
On-snow education clinic for ski coaches, community volunteers and parent coaches on Dec. 22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bring your own skis or use facility skis. The fee is $10. Lunch will be provided. Contact Mark Shea for more information.

Presque Isle High School season passes
PIHS athletics department announces that season passes for varsity basketball and ice hockey may be purchased at the athletic office.
For anyone that reserved seat last year, these seats will be honored until December 22.
After that date, reserved seating will be on a first come, first served basis.
Prices follow: basketball only $30, ice hockey only $25 and combination $50.
Season pass holders will be admitted to all regular season home games only.
Baseball fantasy trip
The Alfond Youth Center announces their 7th annual baseball fantasy trip to take place from June 16 to 21.
The tentative schedule includes three games in Philadelphia with Red Sox, either the Mets or the Yankees and a trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
