Viking wrestlers end regular season

    BREWER – Saturday’s wrestling meet ended the regular season for the Caribou team who went one for three.
    In the winning match over Brewer, 41-27, Carlin Dubay defeated Qasey Perry by technical fall in the 103-pound division. In 160-pound class, Corey Lajoie took down Joe Hutchins at 1:07.

    Against Bucksport, Lance Saucier pinned Dale Sweet at 48 seconds in the 119-pound division. In the 285-pound division, Andrew Adams pinned Andrew Snowman at 1:09.
    Against Penobscot Valley, Dubay defeated Beau Gagnon and Brian Vrieze pinned Rene Dorian at 22 seconds.
    The Vikings went three for three over Mattanawcook, Old Town and Calvary Chapel in last Wednesday’s wrestling tussle.         The CHS wrestlers continue to prove a strong force among Eastern wrestling squads. Caribou defeated Mattanawcook, 41-39. Vrieze out-maneuvered Matanawcook’s Brandon Briggs in the 112-pound division by technical fall.
    Caribou’s Adams worked his holding technique against John French in the 285-pound division. Adams pinned his opponent with 24 seconds on the clock.
    Team scores bolstered CHS above Old Town, 60-18.
    In the 125-pound division, Viking Dan Saucier pinned Julie Cookson with 31 seconds on the clock. In the 160-pound class, Lajoie pinned Jesse McLaughlin at 1:10. Caribou’s Ryan Schunemann pinned Brian Jipson in the 215-pound division at 46 seconds.
    Team scoring put Caribou over Calvary Chapel, 54-18. With the dual meet season over, Caribou will travel to Mount Desert Island for the Penobscot Valley Conference on Saturday.
