Friday Feb. 1

5 -8 p.m. — Fourth annual Moosestompers Ice Fishing Derby
Registration and weigh-ins will be held at Rairdon’s Bait Shop, 1028 County Road, New Limerick.   Derby will be held on Saturday Feb.2 and Sunday Feb. 3.
All fish must be caught in Drew’s, Cochran, Bradbury or Nickerson Lake in New Limerick. Fish must be registered by 3 p.m. on Sunday at Rairdon’s Bait Shop.
Sign up for door prizes, and raffle tickets for an Auger will be available at Rairdon’s Bait Shop or Mac’s Trading Post.

7-9 p.m.   — Free skating at Millar Civic Center
7 p.m. — Moosestompin’ snowmobiles on parade

Decorate your sled, round up your buddies and meet everybody at Community Park at 7 p.m. for a ride through town and back to Community Park for the huge bonfire. This year’s parade will hopefully include lots of the old antique beauties we enjoy seeing. Participants receive an extra card towards the poker run on Saturday. The route this year — Start at Community Park, Randall St., Down Pleasant, cut across by Rec Center, down Main Street, down Broadway, up Military St., toward Park via Willard St. and end at Community Park.
8 p.m. — Bonfire at Houlton Community Park
The bonfire will be provided by the Houlton Fire Department and refreshments by the Ladies Auxiliary.

Saturday Feb. 2

6 a.m. — Noon — Registration for the Moosestompers Ice Fishing Derby at Rairdon’s Bait Shop
Cross Country Skiing — All day
Littleton’s cross-country course will be open and groomed. Weather permitting.
6 – 10 a.m. — Meduxnekeag Ramblers Special Breakfast  
The Meduxnekeag Ramblers Snowsled Club on the Wiley Road in Littleton will provide a breakfast of baked ham, baked beans, homemade donuts and muffins, special pastries, bacon, eggs and all the fixings for $6 adults and $2 for children under 12.  50/50 tickets available. Proceeds help to maintain trails.
8:15 a.m. — Novice hockey game at the Millar Civic Center
9 a.m. – 3 p.m. — Moosestompers Poker Run by the Meduxnekeag Ramblers

Poker run registration is from 6- 10 a.m. during the breakfast at the Meduxnekeag Ramblers clubhouse. Maps will be available.  The Poker Run course will be announced at the breakfast where the first card can be picked up.
Don’t miss out on an excellent ride, weather permitting. Cost is $7 per hand or two hands for $10. Riding in the Moosestompers parade Friday night, gets a participant an extra card. The Poker Run is open to anyone on a sled or vehicle.
Ample parking for vehicles and trailers. Please follow the signs and be safe. Proceeds will be used to help maintain trails.
A person doesn’t have to have a snowmobile to participate, pick up a hand at the breakfast.
9:30 a.m. — Bantams hockey game at Miller Civic Center
9 a.m. — The “giant hill” opens for sliding
Throughout the weekend, enjoy Derby Hill sliding. Bring flying saucers, toboggans or a cardboard box and have fun sliding.
10 a.m. — Southern Aroostook Agricultural Museum
Southern Aroostook Agricultural Museum in Littleton wants to show you the best of their Farmer’s Museum.
10:45 a.m. Walk or 11 a.m. Run — Wild Katahdin Trust Snow Run at Houlton Community Park
This is the first race in the Aroostook Musterds County Challenge Series. Registration is from 9:30-10:35 a.m. in the Millar Civic Center. Cost is $9 ($11 Canadian) with a T-shirt to the first 50 registered participants.
The walk begins at 10:45 a.m. and the run at 11 a.m. The course starts and finishes at the Millar Civic Center’s front entrance. An adult guardian must accompany children under 10 years of age. Changing rooms available adjacent to skating rink. Categories: 5K Run: 14 and under, 15-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over.
All proceeds benefit Aroostook Musterds Scholarship Fund. Refreshments are available after the walk/run. The awards ceremony will be held at 11:45 a.m. Awards will be given to the first five finishers in the walking category and first and second place in each age category (male and female) in running. Special awards will be presented to the first place three-member male and female teams; “Mean Runner” and “Guts” Award.

11 a.m.  Peewee hockey game at Miller Civic Center
11 a.m. – 2 p.m. — Food Concessions open at Houlton Community Park.

The Houlton Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will provide concessions in the log cabin at the park. Warm up with a snack. Food will also be available inside the Millar Civic Center. Concessions also include favorite vittles.
11 a.m. – 2 p.m. — Turkey Stew Luncheon in the Exhibit Hall at Houlton Community Park
The Houlton Humane Society is sponsoring a turkey stew luncheon or chili dish, along with beans, hotdogs and potato salad. Chili, beans and potato salad will be in containers to be purchased to take home, as well.
11 a.m. – 2 p.m. — “Death by Chocolate”
Members of the First Congregational Church Women’s Group will make and sell their favorite chocolate recipes from snacks, desserts or even a main meal. Free coffee and hot chocolate available.
11 a.m. – 2 p.m. — Free Horse Drawn Sleigh Rides at Houlton Community Park
Come for a sleigh ride through Community Park.
11 a.m. – 1 p.m. — North Country Cruisers Car Display at Houlton Community Park

GAMES AT COMMUNITY PARK:

11 a.m. — Sawdust Prize Search – Houlton Community Park
The North Country Cruisers are sponsoring a sawdust prize search, where everyone is a winner. Prizes donated by McDonald’s, Burger King and Movie Gallery.
11:30 a.m. — Half dollar scramble for kids- EVEN BIGGER AND BETTER at Houlton Community Park
Participants will be placed in age groups 6 and under; 7-9 and 10-13. They will have the chance to dig through three piles of snow to find a generous helping of more $400 worth of half dollars. Everybody goes away with a fistful of half dollars. Special thanks to, Bangor Savings, TD Banknorth, Machias Savings Bank, Key Bank, Houlton Federal Credit Union and Houlton Savings Bank of Maine.

12:30 – 1 p.m. — Tug of War
Put together a team and pull hard to win prizes.
1 p.m. — Human Curling
No need for brooms — Just brawn!
12:30 p.m. — Free Admission to the Temple Theatre
Enjoy the free admission to see a children’s movie.  Keep your eyes on the Temple Theater marquee for featured movie. Admission compliments of the Greater Houlton Chamber of Commerce.
1 p.m. – 3 p.m. — Free skating at Millar Civic Center
1 – 4 p.m.  The Maine Winter Sports Center Cross Country Ski Clinic at the Linneus Sno-Sports

MWSC will bring their Healthy Hometown Ski Trailer, with more than 50 pairs of skis/boots/poles, as well as a Healthy Hometown Ski Coach, who will be available for basic skiing instruction. This is a great opportunity to try cross-country skiing and receive professional instruction for free.
2 p.m. — Bonfire at Houlton Community Park
If you missed out on the first bonfire, here’s another chance to get warmed up with some hot chocolate and food provided by the Houlton Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
3:15 p.m — Bantams hockey game at Millar Civic Center
4-9 p.m. — Roller skating at the Rollerama

The Rollerama will be open for roller skating. Half off admission cost.
4:30 – 6:30 p.m. — Baked Bean Supper — Southern Aroostook Agricultural Museum
Come to Littleton and see all they have to offer. Proceed to benefit the museum. Menu includes: Baked beans, hot dogs, ham, salads, all the fixings and your favorite dessert. The cost is $8 per person. Don’t forget to pick up a 50/50 ticket. There will be a Valentines dessert and goodie auction during and after the supper, hosted by the Littleton Women’s Auxiliary. All proceeds of the auction to benefit the Littleton Fire Department.
6:30 – 8:30 p.m. — Free Public Skating — Millar Civic Center
7 p.m. — Aroostook Idol — Houlton High School      

Again this year the United Way of Aroostook is conducting an extensive County-wide search to find the top vocalist in northern Maine and at the same time raise funds for those less fortunate.
Aroostook Idol will get underway at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 at the Houlton High School auditorium. Interested individuals, age 13 and up, in the southern Aroostook region who would like to participate in what will be the definitive vocal talent search for northernmost Maine should contact the United Way at 764-5197 or pick up an application at Houlton High School’s music department.
Winners of this local contest will go on to represent the southern Aroostook area in a finale that will take place in March. Admission is $8 and tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at Key Bank in Market Square. All proceeds raised will go directly to the United Way of Aroostook’s annual campaign.
8 p.m. — Moosestomper’s Ball or Country Western Dance “Ted and the Boys”
The Lounge Down Under will be open for entertainment OR go dancing the night away at the Country & Western Dance with Ted and The Boys at the Meduxnekeag Ramblers Snowmobile Club in Littleton. Doors open at 8 p.m. with music starting at 8:30 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. No one under 21 will be admitted. Tickets are $10 per person and are limited. Get your tickets early. There will be a 50/50 drawing.

Sunday Feb. 3

12:30 p.m. — Free Admission to the Temple Theatre

Admission is half price.
3 p.m. — Deadline for Moosestompers Ice Fishing Derby

3:15- 5:15 p.m. — Hogan Tire shootout
Local SAMHA hockey youngsters show their skills in various age groups from 5 to 18. There will be a competition in sprint skating, puck performance and radar slap shot categories. Hogan Tire has sponsored the event for numerous years showing its commitment to hockey. Door prizes will be available.
5:30 – 7:30 p.m. — Free skating at Millar Civic Center
