Fieldston cabin at Madawaska Lake catches fire

    One of the Fieldstone cabins at Madawaska Lake caught fire Friday during the very windy and cold afternoon. According to the Darren Woods, chief for the North Lakes Fire Department, the cause of the fire remains under investigation. The department, which covers Madawaska and Cross Lakes and Sinclair, responded with 15 personnel and three trucks, with mutual aid from Stockholm and Caribou. The cabin, valued at $60,000, was considered a total loss. No injuries were reported.
