Houlton National Honor Society – Members show honor and character

Being a member of National Honor Society is both an honor and responsibility.
In order to be in it, we as NHS members must maintain a high grade point average, come to meetings and do at least two hours of community service each month. Some of the hours we do are done by individuals, but some are done as a group activity.
In August, we assisted with the town’s Bicentennial Celebration, and in October, we put on an Umbrella of Care dinner at the recreation center. We each took responsibility for part of it, whether it was cooking, serving or cleaning up afterwards.
It is enjoyable to be part of a group where we all take time out of our lives to better the community and encourage each other to be the best we can.
