As a group project this year, Houlton High School’s National Honor Society did an Umbrella of Care dinner. Each month, a supper is done by various groups of the community for those in town who may not always get a home-cooked meal.
As an NHS group, we decided to step out of the box and not do the general spaghetti dinner. With a recipe from scratch, we were able to make fettuccini Alfredo, accompanied by Caesar salad and á la mode for dessert. The dinner turned out great. The people enjoyed it, the food was great, and it felt awesome being able to give back to the community as a group of high-schoolers.
