Board welcomes Henderson as director

    Jon McLaughlin, Executive Director of the Southern Aroostook Development Corporation, is pleased to welcome as a Director, Dallas Henderson, a long time business-person in the Houlton community. 
    Dallas Henderson started from scratch, an insurance agency in Houlton 35 years ago and now it is one of the most successful State Farm Agencies in the North Atlantic Region.
    He has received many industry awards including New England Man of the Year and has been recognized many times as one of the top ten producers in America.  He has also been designated as a Quality Career Agent.
    Dallas has served the community of Houlton in many service related roles as well.  He has been a two time President of the Houlton Chamber of Commerce, served on the Salvation Army advisory board, 20 years in two school districts as director/chairman, 25 years as part of the Aroostook County Jail Ministry and as a part-time Chaplain.
    When asked why he accepted the position of Director of SADC, he said, “Houlton is a great place to live, raise a family and have a business.  One of my goals is to encourage the next generation to have the same opportunity.”
    McLaughlin echoed Dallas’ sentiments. 
    “Dallas’ goals are the same as SADC and in order to make these goals a reality, we need to work collaboratively together to make the Southern Aroostook region an area that affords an opportunity for our youth to be able to stay here.  With Dallas’ expertise and personal drive, he will help guide us to making this goal obtainable.  We are very pleased that he accepted our offer to join our organization.”
    SADC continues to push forward with its mission to attract and guide new business to Southern Aroostook for the betterment of our area.
