OAKFIELD, Maine — On March 28, over 100 people gathered to honor Maxine Brackett on her 74th birthday. Maxine is the sole living sibling of 13; she was born in Stacyville to Harry and Zula Rodgerson. She spends her time always helping others, no matter what. She spends time at the nursing home, visiting and cooking special treats for each one. She has also invested lots of time and effort in the Stacyville Baptist Church to keep it open and offer a Sunday School for those who come.
Many friends and relatives traveled to the Oakfield Smoki-Haulers Clubhouse for the 5 p.m. supper. After supper, Bob Locke sang songs of Maxine’s choice after which her sons and grandchildren served birthday cake and sang “Happy Birthday.”
Maxine is married to Richard Brackett and has three sons: Dennis, Kenny and Prince. The sons and their families organized this event for their mother.
