HOULTON — Houlton Higher Education Center and ACAP Child and Family Services present a 2-hour workshop entitled “Preparing Your Child to Read and Having Fun While You Do It” at the Houlton Higher Education Center on Saturday, May 3 from 9 – 11 a.m.
There will be a presentation by a National Head Start Family Literacy Center trainer from Sonoma State University. Parents and caregivers in attendance will learn ways to increase children’s language while playing with children in the course of daily routines. The session is for adults only, but participants will be able to take a free book home to their child. Registration and refreshments start at 8:30 am. There is no charge for this session but pre-registration is appreciated.
