Annual gun show has large turnout

    The Houlton Rifle and Pistol Club held its 21st annual Gun Show last weekend at the Millar Civic Center.

    The show featured 15 dealers displaying goods on 55 tables and a paid gate of nearly 750 people. Based on recent attendance figures, the event was a huge success, said publicity director Tim Glossinger. The Houlton Rifle and Pistol Club credits the large turnout to the April show dates and another good turnout by Canadian neighbors.
    Raffle tickets were sold at the door for a custom built Model 22A pistol, first prize, won by Bruce Roope; a single shot 20-guage shotgun, second prize, won by Jim Bailey and a SWAT knife, third prize, won by Ben Leblanc of Presque Isle.

    The Houlton Rifle and Pistol Club is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to safe recreational rifle and pistol shooting. The club shooting range is located at the Houlton International Airport.
