Murphy was one of the three finalists selected by master judges to compete in a final design-off. She was sequestered and given a mystery package of flowers, a container and accent material with which she would create a floral design within 30 minutes and was judged by Wilton Hardy, an American Institute floral designer, from Florida, and a panel of Maine master floral designers.
For her efforts, Murphy was awarded first place which included a cash prize and engraved plaque. She is a Maine master floral designer and a professional certified florist and is well known for her modern, creative floral style.
Murphy has been at Cook Florist for 10 years. She won the People’s Choice Award and Maine State Floral Designer of the Year for 2007.
