Surveillance footage led Aroostook deputies to two suspects who allegedly stole a pickup from behind the Irving in Sherman, according to Aroostook County Sheriff Peter Johnson.
Video footage was obtained from several nearby businesses which allowed [the deputy] to identify two suspects in the case,” Sheriff Peter Johnson said.
The 1994 green short-bed GMC was parked behind the gas station on Oct. 24 when
Reed Plantation resident Thomas Taylor, 60, and Sherman resident Terra-Leigh Ann Getchell, 41, allegedly stole it, the sheriff said.
Both were arrested on charges of Class C theft by unauthorized taking or transfer and Class D, theft by unauthorized use. They were arrested and transported to the Aroostook County Jail. Getchell was released on bail, Taylor remains in the jail, said Johnson.
If convicted, they could each serve up to five years behind bars.
The truck, owned by Edward Bither of Washburn, with Maine license plate 628LRJ, is still missing. It’s believed to be in the greater Sherman area, Johnson said.
Anyone with any information on the vehicle’s location should call the sheriff’s office at 207-532-3471 or Aroostook County Crimestoppers at 1-800-638-8477.
