WILLIAM J. SMITH AWARD – Adam Flynn (center), member of the Presque Isle Wildcat Peewee Hockey team is awarded the William J. Smith award by Smith’s son and daughter, Chris Smith (left) and Kim Wright (right), on April 9.
The award is given in memory of William Smith, who loved hockey and showed his dedication to the sport through many years of coaching and officiating.
The award is given to the peewee hockey player who best demonstrates the spirit of sportsmanship and who, in the opinion of the coaches, shows outstanding dedication to hockey.
Coaches honored Flynn with the award after his outstanding play and dedication during the 2007-08 peewee hockey league season.
