HOULTON — The public is invited to a free concert featuring D.C. Washington, a Virginia-based singer and recording artist.

PREPARING TO PERFORM — These local musicians have spent the last three months practicing for this weekend’s concert with D.C. Washington. Under the direction of Greater Houlton Christian Academy Music Director Stan Harris, close to 40 orchestra members and 70 choir members will perform with Washington, a Virginia-based singer and recording artist. The concert, scheduled to be held at the Houlton Wesleyan Church, will start at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 24; doors will open at 5:30 p.m. A free will offering will be taken to benefit the academy’s annual fund.
Accompanying him for this significant musical event will be a full orchestra, a choir of nearly sixty adult members, a Greater Houlton Christian Academy student ensemble, and a praise band. The concert will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 24 at the Houlton Wesleyan Church, Kelleran Street. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and GHCA student ushers will be available to greet and assist attendees with seating. A free will offering will be taken to benefit the Annual Fund of Greater Houlton Christian Academy.
Featured songs include "End of the Beginning," "Audience of One," "Were You There?" and "Child of Mine." The live orchestra is comprised of local musicians, and the adult choir draws its nearly sixty voices from surrounding communities.
