    ISLAND FALLS — The annual Summerfest Pageant is accepting applications at the Island Falls Municipal Building by July 7 at 6:30 p.m. Categories for both boys and girls will include: Baby Wee Ones (up to 11 months), Wee Ones (12 to 23 months), Tiny Tots (2 and 3 year olds), Sunshine Kids (4 and 5 year olds), birth to age 5 categories sponsor fee will be same as last year, $35.
    The pageant will also include several “Miss” categories: Little Miss ages 6 to 9 years old, Junior Miss ages 10 to 13 and Miss ages 14 to 18.
    These categories require a $60 sponsor fee and a talent is also required for all miss categories. Ages for categories are as of July 1. Applications should be picked up, filled out and dropped off July 7, 6:30 p.m. at the Island Falls Municipal Building. Contestants that have won in a category already cannot enter that same category again.
    The pageant is open to residents that are living in area towns: Island Falls, Sherman, Sherman Station, Benedicta, Patten, Oakfield, Smyrna, and Merrill. Cash Prizes are given in miss categories only and all other categories receive trophies and other items.

    A “new” Gram and Gramp event may also be held. Applications can be picked up at the Island Falls Town Office, Jerry’s Thriftway, Bishop’s Market, Island Falls One Stop, or by calling Ruth at 463-2263.
