Preschoolers group forming in Hodgdon

To the editor:
I am the coordinator of the local MOPS group. MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. We are a non-profit group for mothers with newborns through Kindergarten-aged children.
MOPS International is based in Denver, and our local charter meets at the Hodgdon United Baptist Church. Our regular meetings will begin on September 9. We will meet from September-June, the second Tuesday of each month from 9-10:30 a.m. and the fourth Tuesday of each month from 6:30-8 p.m.
So many young mothers feel trapped, lonely, or frustrated during the early mothering years, and they often think they are the only ones feeling this way. The purpose of MOPS is to help moms form relationships, find community with other moms, and grow personally through the challenges of early motherhood.
Our 2008-2009 year will be starting with a Grand Opening on Saturday, August 30, from 9:30-11 a.m. We will have a carnival theme with games, door prizes and refreshments. For more information, call 694-1864 or e-mail cherie@pioneercable.net.
