Walter T.A. Hansen Library
The summer reading program at the library finished on Tuesday, Aug. 5, and was considered a great success. They had an average of 25 children a week that come to hear the story and sample the food from each continent that they learned about. The participants that completed the program received their finished passports from around the world as well as a cookbook containing the recipes that they had sampled during their “travels.”
Information about the library as well as the hours are available on their Web site: www.wtahansenlibrary.com.
Rotary Club
The Mars Hill Rotary Club met at the Aroostook Health Center on Tuesday, Aug. 5, at 6:30 a.m.
The special speaker was Andrew York, who played baseball this past summer with Athletes in Action, a division of Campus Crusade for Christ. They played 44 games as part of the New York Collegiate Baseball League. Andrew pitched as a “closer” for several games, and started in two. He learned a lot through the experience and plans to play baseball at Cedarville University this fall.
The players all stayed with host families and were actively involved in several ministries this summer.

Newly married, Claudia (Brown) Wilcox Daniels and Danny Daniels share their first piece of wedding cake with each other. Looking at the picture, I’m not sure how “messy” things got after the photo was snapped! Married on July 19, 2008, at Claudia’s parents’ home in Westfield, the couple will reside in Grand Junction, Colo. Claudia is a 1972 graduate of Central Aroostook High School.
