    FOUR DIRECTIONS DEVELOPMENT CORP., a Native Community Development Funding Institution (CDFI) located in Orono, was recently the grateful recipient of a $5,000 contribution from the Aroostook Band of Micmacs Housing Authority.

Four Directions is a non-profit CDFI and the first Native-governed CDC and CDFI in northern New England, and was established in March of 2001. The mission of Four Directions is to improve the social and economic conditions of the tribal members of the Micmac, Passamaquoddy, Maliseet and Penobscot communities by investing in affordable housing, housing improvements, tribal business ventures, and small to medium-sized businesses.
