2 Houlton men arrested on drug trafficking charges

Two Houlton men were arrested on multiple drug charges Thursday following a police search of their Houlton residence, camper and property outbuildings, according to police. 

Seth R. Suitter, 35, of Houlton was charged with two Class B felonies, unlawful trafficking of methamphetamine and unlawful trafficking in schedule W drugs, and two Class C felonies,  unlawful possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and trafficking in prison contraband. He was also charged with two misdemeanors, possession of fentanyl powder and violating conditions of release.

Ronald S. Suitter, 68, of Houlton was charged with two Class B felonies, unlawful trafficking of methamphetamine and unlawful trafficking in schedule W drugs, and two misdemeanors, possession of fentanyl powder and refusing to submit to arrest or detention. 

A Houlton officer went on a routine service call Thursday, where he was given information regarding drug activity in town, police said. Officer Joshua Foster and other officers investigated to obtain a search warrant. 

At about 7:53 p.m., Houlton police, with the assistance of three Border Patrol units, searched the men’s Court Street home in Houlton. 

During the search of the property, police located and seized 66 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 4.06 grams of suspected fentanyl, 247 unsorted pills and $1,501 in cash.

Under Maine law (Title 17-A, §1107-A), possession of more than 14 grams of methamphetamine is considered drug trafficking, a Class B crime.

Seth Suitter is being held in the Aroostook County Jail on the conditions of release violation. Bail was set at $5,000 for additional charges.

Ronald Suitter’s bail was set at $5,000 cash. He has since been released.
