SPRINGFIELD – Terry J. Hanson, 53, of Springfield, Mass. passed away on Friday evening November 21, 2008, in Mercy Medical Center, Springfield. Terry was born in Westover AFB, Mass. on October 11, 1955, and graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School.
    He was employed by Hamiliton Sunstrand as a materials handler for the past 25 years. Terry has resided in Springfield most of his life. Terry's loves in life were his family and friends. He was an avid ice fisherman, Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. Terry enjoyed trips to Maine and playing mound ball with his family and friends at Fenway Park. Terry enjoyed going to concerts and listening to the Dead, Elvis and Johnny Cash.
    He was predeceased by his stepfather, Edward Hall, and his dog Jake, who was his best friend and loyal companion. Terry is survived by his father John A. Hanson of Linneus, ME; mother, Margaret A. (Sharkey) Hall of Granby, MA; two brothers, David Hanson and his partner Melissa Soja of East Long-meadow and Dale Hanson and his wife Marianne of Winthrop, MA; three sisters, Marie Langley of New Limerick, ME, Stacee Crane of Springfield, and Jessica Funk and her husband Kevin of Granby; eight nephews, Luke, Weston, Griffin, Brodie, John, Kevin, Chris, and Joey; two nieces, Chelsea and Julia; and his dear friend Judy Henzel and her partner Jim of Southwick.
    A Celebration of Terry's Life was held on Saturday November 29, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Theodore's Restaurant, 201 Worthington Street, Springfield. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Terry's memory can be made to the Mercy Medical Center, ICU Department, 271 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
