HOULTON —  As fast-paced as an emergency room can get, the nurses at Houlton Regional Hospital still manage to make time to support other important needs. Emergency Room Registered Nurse Doris Sherman and fellow nurses have spearheaded a benefit food/bake sale involving staff throughout the hospital for Tuesday, Dec. 23 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the hospital’s community education center on the 3rd floor.
ImageREADY, SET, BAKE — Registered nurses in the Houlton Regional Hospital Emergency Room are looking for town support because the staff at HRH will be cooking up a storm making bread, cinnamon rolls,  pies, cookies, candies, cakes and all sorts of goodies next Tuesday, Dec. 23. Ready for the challenge, from left, are Doris Sherman, Judy Nicholson, Dawn Kerekes and Robin Boyer who will be working to make the benefit a huge success.
Sherman says the proceeds will be split equally to benefit the Salvation Army Fuel Assistance Fund and Dr. Ted Sussman’s overseas mission to work with Health Volunteers Overseas. Dr. Sussman will make his fourth humanitarian trip to Sihanouk Hospital Center of HOPE in Cambodia with his wife, Iva, in February.
