Church to host free Christmas dinner

The Christmas elves at the Bethel Pentecostal Church in Oakfield are inviting anyone from Littleton down to Amity and over to the Island Falls area to come enjoy a free delicious Christmas dinner at their church in Oakfield on Christmas Day from noon until 5 p.m. If you are unable to get to the church the elves will provide a ride for you or deliver the dinner to your home.

This will be the fifth year for this gift to the southern Aroostook area. It began with Lorraine Cullins, a member of the church choir. Her idea skyrocketed and each year their following has increased. In 2007 they served more than 200 individuals.
Cullins said, “Preparing this dinner is our gift to those that otherwise may have only a sandwich or be alone.” “This event makes our Christmas,” she added.
Anyone who would like a ride to the church or who would like a meal delivered to their home can call the church at  757-8263 and leave a message if no one answers.
