On December 6 and 13, the Greater Houlton Christian Academy Intermediate Band held two of three Christmas gift wrapping sessions for the greater Houlton community.
Patrons from the Houlton area brought their gifts into the main lobby of the school, where Christmas music welcomed them, dropped off their gifts, and took the rest of the morning to themselves for additional shopping, while band members wrapped each gift with paper, ribbons, and bows.
“It was a fun time to be with my band friends; but more importantly, I had a great time wrapping gifts for others,” said eighth-grader Halle Duff. “To see how happy they were when they came back to get their gifts and knowing that we helped save them time and stress, was reward enough for me.”
There will be one last chance for the community to take advantage of this time-saving opportunity. The gift wrapping service is free, but if a donation is given, it will help benefit the GHCA band program. Come by GHCA on Saturday, Dec. 20 from 9 a.m. to noon and allow the band to wrap your gifts.
