PRESQUE ISLE – Elsie J. McCluskey, 93, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2009, at a Houlton hospital. She was born June 9, 1915 in Winterville, the daughter of Frank and Gertrude (Morneault) Gagnon. 
Upon graduating high school, she graduated from the Chicago School of Nursing in 1936. In the mid 60s, Elsie along with her husband Lawrence started McCluskey’s Trailer Sales in Presque Isle. Upon her retirement from the trailer business in 1980, she owned and managed rental properties until 1998. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Presque Isle. Elsie is survived by four children: Madeline Philbrick of Exeter, NH, Gene McCluskey of Presque Isle, Barbara McCluskey of Wildwood, FL, Gary McCluskey and his wife Carla of Presque Isle; two brothers: Frank Gagnon Jr. of Florida, Carroll Gagnon of Stoughton, Mass.; three sisters: Genevia Michaud, Madeline Saucier, both of Presque Isle, and Berniece Papapetro of Bristol, CT; six grandchildren; nine great -grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, four sisters and her husband, Lawrence in 1982.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 2 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2009, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Raymond Morency celebrant.
