Recently, Katahdin Elementary School celebrated reading and writing with a Family Literacy Night. On January 8, students and their families braved the cold outside to attend their own indoor “Winter Wonderland.”

The evening began with whole group read aloud, presented with energy and enthusiasm by our own Miss Higgins.
Activities that focus on different elements of literacy were set up at “stations” at all grade levels throughout the school.The festivities ended with another fun read aloud, this time presented by Al Pulkkinen.
