Houlton cheerleaders place fifth in states

The Houlton High School cheerleaders finished in fifth place in last Saturday’s Class C state Cheerleading Competition at the Bangor Auditorium.
    The Houlton cheerleaders accumulated 121.1 points.
Taking the Class C crown was Saint Dominic of Lewiston with a 134.5 points. This is the first title since 2005.
Placing second was Monmouth Academy with a 131 points and Dexter finished third with 128.3 points.
The top three teams will advance to the New England Championship, which is March 21 at the University of New Hampshire in Durham.
