What is your opinion?
By N.G.
Many people recycle everyday, but people who hunt wildlife are, in my opinion, the biggest recyclers of all. I think that hunters help more because if there were too many Great Horned Owls, there wouldn’t be as many skunks. If all the skunks disappeared, grubs and other harmful insects would eat all the grass and roots. Then, all the grass would die. If all the grass died, so would the horses and cattle, because they get their nutrition from the grass. Then the cows would produce bad milk. Humans would get sick. So, if hunters did not kill animals, it would probably mean the death of hundreds of humans. Hunting is not bad for the environment. It actually helps more!
Save the wildlife
By T.L and N.G
In order to save wildlife animals, we need to save trees for animals that live in trees such as: birds, squirrels, raccoons, and more! But if we cut down a lot of trees, animals will not only lose their homes, but they also could go extinct. A way to help is to use less paper.
Don’t Waste the water
By J.F.
Water is important; you need it to stay healthy. Only three percent of Earth’s water is drinking water. A lot of people waste water by letting their faucets run when they are not using them like when brushing your teeth. Conserve.
Plastic vs. paper
By E.H.
Plastic takes about 500 years to break down, yet paper takes only six months. Our troop has decorated paper bags for a local grocer to put your groceries in. if you don’t have a canvas bag use our ’Earth Friendly’ bags at Sleepers.
Littering
By J.F.
People everywhere are littering, they’re polluting the Earth. When people litter they’re causing global warming. Don’t be a litter bug. Keep Earth clean.
Trees
By J.F.
Trees are very important they help us breathe. They make the air clean. Don’t cut trees, plant them instead.
Smencils
By E.H.
What is better, a wood pencil or a Smencil ? Yep, a Smencil is made out of 100 percent recycled newspaper. Their slogan is “Saving trees, one pencil at a time.” Where do you get one? It is currently a fund-raiser for the ‘Children’s Discovery Museum’. So far 6,217,242 Smencils have been sold. For more information go to www.smencils.com.
Recipes for a cleaner world
By E.H.
Clean and stay Green. Some of the chemicals in the household products can harm living things and pollute the air. How can you keep your home clean without harming the environment? Make natural cleaning products. Here are some you might want to try.
Glass Cleaner — 1/2 cup white vinegar; 1 quart(4 cups) of water and a spray bottle. Mix the vinegar and water in the spray bottle. Spray glass then wipe with cloth.
Bathroom Cleaner — Baking soda and water. Sprinkle baking soda on bathroom fixture. Use a wet cloth to wash it out. Do not use this cleaner on anything that scratches easily.
Furniture Polish — 1 ounce of lemon juice, 2 ounces of cooking oil and a plastic bottle. Mix lemon juice and the olive oil in plastic bottle. Pour a touch of it on the furniture and wipe off with soft cloth.

Trashy Art
Have fun with your family, collect things that would normally be thrown away and make a poster. Bottle caps, milk jug rings, rubber bands, garbage you find in your room. Gum wrappers, old aluminum foil. Glue on poster, have fun.
