OLD ORCHARD BEACH- Loretta Marie Decker, age 68, of Smith Ave., passed away on April 14, 2009 at her residence, surrounded by her family and friends.
She was born in Sinclair, Maine on May 13, 1940, a daughter of Leo and Azilda (Albert) Guerette.
As a girl, she attended Holy Rosary Parochial School in Caribou and Caribou High School.
For many years, Loretta has worked as a secretary to the executive director at the Old Orchard Beach Chamber of Commerce.
Besides her involvement with the chamber, Loretta was a parishioner of St. Margaret’s Church in Old Orchard Beach.
She will always be remembered as a loving woman who enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Loretta had a love for photography and was known to enjoy organizing family photos.
She is predeceased by her husband MSgt. Paul S. Decker, USAF (Ret.); granddaughters Jennifer Strange and Taffy Bubier; brother Roland Guerette; and her parents.
Loretta is survived by her life companion Jim Dikeman of Old Orchard Beach; children Michael Decker of Ellsworth, Pam O’Bar of Caribou, Paul Decker of Saco, Cindy LaPointe of North Waterboro, and Robin Decker of Mississippi; stepchildren Valerie Ivey of NH and Heather Holt of NY; sisters Mary Campbell of Fort Fairfield, Toni Phillips of Caribou, and Regina Anderson of CT; sixteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Visiting hours were on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Old Orchard Beach Funeral Home, 36 Portland Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday morning 10 a.m. at St. Margaret’s Church in Old Orchard Beach.
A cemetery service was held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco.
