Katahdin Trust Company senior vice president and chief financial officer Matthew Nightingale has announced the promotion of Joe Porter to assistant vice president and controller; and two new officer positions, Andrew Putnam as network administrator and Angie Small as systems administrator.
Joe Porter
“These individuals have earned these promotions by exhibiting tremendous dedication and commitment to Katahdin Trust Company and are highly valued members of our team,” said Nightingale.
Porter joined Katahdin Trust Company as the bank’s accountant in February 2005 with nearly 10 years’ experience in the accounting field and was promoted to controller in 2006. In his new position he will continue to be responsible for the preparation and analysis of various financial statements and management and regulatory reporting, while overseeing the accounting function and other duties.
An Island Falls native, Porter attained his B.S. in accounting from the University of Maine at Presque Isle and is working towards a M.S. in business from Husson University in Bangor. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Houlton Area Little League and Southern Aroostook Minor Hockey Association. Porter and his wife Misty reside in Houlton with their two sons, Payton and Nolan.
Putnam began working for Katahdin Trust Company in 1999 as part-time marketing assistant and later that year assumed additional responsibilities in the commercial services department. He transferred to the Management Information Systems (MIS) department in 2003 as network technician and was named network administrator in 2006. In his new position he will continue to be responsible for managing and maintaining the bank’s servers and network infrastructure.
Andrew Putnam
A Houlton native, Putnam attended the University of Maine at Orono, the University of Maine at Augusta, is a graduate of the Northern New England School of Banking in Durham, N.H. and has been designated as a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) for Windows XP and Microsoft certified systems administrator (MCSA) for Windows 2003 with exchange messaging. He is a member of Houlton Fire Department and serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater Houlton Chamber of Commerce. Putnam and his wife Krista reside in Houlton with their daughter, Natalie.
Small joined Katahdin Trust Company in 1996 as a teller in the Patten office with 13 years’ of banking experience. In 1997 she transferred to the operations center in Houlton and has served in a variety of positions including data operations assistant, data processing specialist, and MIS technology specialist, the position she held prior to her recent promotion.
Angie Small
An Oakfield native, Small attained her A.S. from Northern Maine Community College in Presque Isle and is a graduate of the Northern New England School of Banking. She is a member of Southern Aroostook Community School Dollars for Scholars and Band Boosters. Small resides in Smyrna with Charles Garcelon and their daughter, Cassie.
