Kristine Davidshofer and Thomas Olson
Dr. and Mrs. William and Claire Davidshofer of Presque Isle and Mr. Michael Olson and Ms. Karen Olson of Nebraska are pleased to announce the marriage of their children, Dr. Kristine Davidshofer, formerly of Presque Isle, and Mr. Thomas Olson, formerly of Nebraska.
The couple were married on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Presque Isle with Father David Raymond presiding. Organist Daniel Ladner provided music for the nuptial mass. The Maid of Honor was Claudine Davidshofer, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Michele Jurgensmeier and Jennifer Kesting, sisters of the groom. The Best Man was Robert Beken, friend of the groom. The Groomsmen were Peter Olson and Erik Davidshofer, brothers of the groom and bride, respectively. Parker Kesting, nephew of the groom, was the Ring Bearer and Lauren and Katelyn Jurgensmeier, nieces of the groom, were Flower Girls. The groom’s family traveled from Nebraska for the wedding and enjoyed the weekend in Presque Isle in addition with some sightseeing in Boston and along the coast of Maine. The groom drove his bride to the reception at the Presque Isle Inn and Convention Center in a 1955 Oldsmobile owned by Craig Green of Presque Isle. The couple spent their honeymoon in Québec and Ontario and enjoyed a second reception in Nebraska on July 26 with the groom’s extended family members. Dr. Davidshofer graduated from Presque Isle High School in 1999, the University of Maine at Presque Isle in 2003 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, and earned her Ph.D. in Physiology from The Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in May 2008. She is currently employed as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Penn State College of Medicine. Mr. Olson graduated from Osmond High School in 1995, The University of Nebraska in 2000 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, and will be earning his Ph.D. in Molecular Medicine from The Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. He is currently employed as a Graduate Assistant at the Penn State College of Medicine. The couple resides in Pennsylvania.
