Members of the United Methodist Women’s Club from the Gray Memorial United Methodist Church in Caribou, stand in back of the remaining 11 pies at 9:30 a.m. Friday morning. Members are, from left: Deneane Bentum, Betty Branscom, Audrey Bubar, Gwen Ellinwood, Phyllis Anderson and Joelene Reitmeyer.
“People were just driving right up in their vehicles,” said UMW member Phyllis Anderson, “they just told us which one(s) they wanted, paid and we handed it to them through their window.”
Helping to celebrate Caribou’s 150th birthday this year, the annual UMW pie sale has been a proven success for more than 25 years.
