Foster, Dorothy, 89, July 25, 2009.  Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Houlton.  Interment to be held in the Bushnell Veterans Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
    HOULTON – Dorothy Foster, 89, went to be with her Lord on July 25, 2009, with her son, Ken and his wife, Pat, by her side. She died at a local healthcare facility.  She was born April 6, 1920, in Brown City, MI to Claude and Inez (Smith) Stevens.
    She married Russell Foster in 1936 and they raised their family in Port Huron, MI. Dorothy was a faithful wife, mother and church member. She enjoyed a long retirement in Florida and liked playing shuffleboard.
    She is survived by four children, Barbara Smith (Leo) of Harbor Springs, MI, Gary Foster (Sarah Jane), Judith Craig (Richard), both of Fort Gratiot, MI, Ken Foster (Pat) of Hodgdon; 11 grandchildren including, Marvin Foster (Kelli) of Bluffton, OH, Wendy Smith (Kevin) of Carmel, Nathan Foster (Meghan) of Hodgdon; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband in 1995; daughter, Carol Brickle; great-grandson, William Carron; siblings, Oden, Ed and Henry Stevens, Ida Bonstell, Esther Stern, Mary Withun, Viola Hutchinson, Helen Dobson and Ann Ostrander.
    A heartfelt thanks goes to the staff of Madigan House for the friendly interaction and loving care shown to Dorothy in her last years.
    Funeral services will be held at a later date in Florida with an interment at Bushnell Veterans Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Greater Houlton Christian Academy, 27 School Street, Houlton ME 04730. Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Houlton.
