PRESQUE ISLE — A number of meetings and events are scheduled for August:
• The Zoning Board of Appeals will meet Tuesday, Aug. 11, at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall;
• The Presque Isle Sesquicentennial Parade is scheduled for noon on Saturday, Aug. 15;
• To celebrate the city’s Sesquicentennial, fireworks are planned for 9 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15;
• The Planning Board of Appeals will meet at City Hall on Thursday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m.;
• The Presque Isle Development Fund will meet Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 4 p.m. at City Hall; and
• The Crown of Maine Balloon Festival kicks off Thursday, Aug. 27, and runs through Sunday, Aug. 30, with a barbecue planned for Friday, Aug. 28, from 5-7 p.m.
