Woods named All-American scholar

Image    Officials with the United States Achievement Academy have announced that Robert Woods of Houlton has been named an All-American Scholar.
    The USAA has established the All-American Scholar Award Program to offer deserved recognition to superior students who excel in the academic disciplines. The All-American scholars must earn a 3.3. or higher grade point average. Only scholars selected by a school instructor, counselor or other qualified sponsor are accepted.
    Woods attends Houlton Junior Senior High School and was nominated for this honor by social studies teacher, Jodie Peabody. Woods was also nominated to attend People to People Youth Leadership Forum in Washington, D.C. by his English teacher, Karen Bouchard. Woods has applied, been accepted and will attend the event in April of 2010.
    He will also appear in the All-American Scholar Yearbook, which is published nationally.
    Woods is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Karl Woods and the grandson of Donald and Helen Woods of Houlton and Robert and Anita Duprey of Presque Isle.
