Firefighter Steve Corbin, 47, has been a part-time member of the Caribou Fire and Ambulance Department for 21 years. His duties include that of a firefighter I, EMT Basic and he is the Fire Chaplain.     “I enjoy helping others in need,” stated Corbin. “I decided to become involved with the fire department in order to give back to my local community.” He is currently the Regional Emergency Management Service Coordinator.
Corbin said he would like citizens to understand that firefighters put in a great deal of time and effort behind the scenes to maintain training and licensure regarding public safety. In addition, the local fire departments conduct a huge number of community service projects
“In Caribou,” the firefighter/EMT added, “We are fortunate to have the toy project to help children from impoverished families, during the holiday season.”
Firefighter Steve and his wife Gina live in Caribou and are the parents of one son and a daughter.
Admitting that his favorite food is “everything,”  as there isn’t anything he really doesn’t like, the paid call member of the Caribou Fire and Ambulance Department lists rock’n’roll as his favorite type of music with Country/Western being the at the bottom of the list.
