ENFIELD, CT & PORTAGE LAKE – Ida M. (Dionne) Milliard, 98, of Enfield, CT entered peacefully into eternal life on Friday, September 25, 2009, with loved ones at her side. Ida was the widow of Alderic Milliard. She was born in Wallagrass, Feb. 10, 1911, the daughter of Victor and Delia (Bouchard) Dionne and made her home in Enfield for the past 16 years with her daughter, Cecile Levesque. 
Ida was an avid card player who also enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting, puzzles and playing her favorite game Scrabble. She loved to spend time with her family.
Ida was a loving and devoted mother to Cecile Levesque and her, husband, Marcel of Enfield, Sr. Aline Milliard of Sound Beach, NY, Gilman Milliard and his wife, Nancy of Pittsburgh, PA, Jackie St. Peter and her husband Dayton of Middletown, CT, Vangie Van Deusen and her husband, David of Upper Marlboro, MD, Allie Barber and her husband, Gale of McDonough, GA, Bert Dodman of Brevard, NC, Norman Milliard of Greenwood, and Carmel Milliard of Portage Lake. She is also survived by 21 beloved grandchildren, 25 great- grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Ida was predeceased by an infant son, Emile and by three sisters.
Funeral services for Ida were held on Tuesday, Sept. 29, with the funeral procession forming at 9:30 a.m. from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd., Enfield, to St. Martha’s Church, 214 Brainard Rd., Enfield, for a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Committal service and interment will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery, Portage Lake, at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1. Relatives and friends were invited to gather with her family on Monday September 28, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels.
