Health fair cancelled

PRESQUE ISLE — The need to produce both seasonal and H1N1 vaccine this fall has led to a delay in seasonal vaccine delivery to hospitals across the country. At this point, The Aroostook Medical Center (TAMC) has received about half of its seasonal vaccine order. TAMC has followed the CDC’s recommendation of distributing seasonal vaccine as it becomes available; in fact, TAMC has already given more than 3,000 seasonal flu shots to the community through its physician practices.     As a result of the delays in seasonal vaccine distribution, the TAMC Fall Health Fair, scheduled to take place Oct. 24-25, was cancelled and no fair will be held this year. To make certain our community gets vaccinated as quickly as possible, TAMC will hold seasonal and H1N1 flu shot clinics when more vaccine becomes available.
