Officials with the Expect More Dollar Store, has announced they will soon bring their unique mix of dollar items to a new location at 57 Sweden Street, between the post office and Buzzell's clothing store. The location, the former Dan's Living Center building, has recently undergone significant renovations and is now ready for occupancy.
According to Jennifer Tardie, store manager, the new building will provide extra space and a bright new environment for Expect More Dollar Store. "We are pleased to bring the dollar store to downtown Caribou and help the city in their efforts to bring more retail back to the downtown area.” Tardie continued, "We found the building to be a perfect fit providing excellent visibility on both Hershel and Sweden Street and ample parking thanks to the cooperation of our downtown neighbors.”
Customers will be able to access the store from both Hershel and Sweden Street entrances. The new store is scheduled to open by Oct. 30, occupying about 60 percent of the entire space that was once an F.W. Woolworth Five and Dime Store.
Plans are also underway to utilize the remainder of the building, returning more retail and services to the downtown district. According to Tardie,"We have already had interest in leasing space next to the dollar store and we anticipate the entire space being utilized within a short time."
While the store will be opening this week, an official grand-opening is scheduled for mid-November.
