Barbara Jean Kelley Higgins, age 56, of Danville, died Thursday, November 5, 2009, at the UK Chandler Medical Center. Born Saturday, April 11, 1953 in Caribou, ME, she was a daughter of the late Bernard and Celia Clarkson Kelley. She was employed by the Dana Corporation and Meggitt Aircraft Braking Systems. She enjoyed camping, reading, gardening and traveling.
She is survived by her daughter, Kelley Higgins of Wilmington, NC; and brothers, Roger Kelley of Williamsville, NY and Mike Kelley of Marshville, NC.
The rite of cremation has been honored by Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home, Danville, KY. No public services will be held.
The Barbara Jean Higgins Memorial Fund has been set up at Farmer’s National Bank, 306 West Main Street, Danville, Kentucky 40422.
